As a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, DSR is committed to supporting and promoting the sport of rodeo while positively impacting the entire Franklin Parish community. The organization is deeply rooted in family traditions, with committee membership including third-generation descendants of the original 1958 committee.

Deep South Rodeo is a proud member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), showcasing the highest standards in rodeo excellence. The annual Deep South PRCA Rodeo boasts the highest dollar payoff in the state of Louisiana, with prize money exceeding $60,000. This event is a thrilling spectacle, attracting skilled rodeo athletes and enthusiasts from all around.

Beyond the rodeo arena, DSR's commitment to community engagement is evident through various initiatives. The Louisiana Legends Legacy Program rodeo school, the Deep South Kids Rodeo, and the Deep South Rodeo Queens contests all contribute to fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Step into the world of rodeo excellence with the Louisiana Legends Legacy Program, a flagship initiative by Deep South Rodeo, Inc. This program is crafted with the explicit aim of promoting the rich heritage of rodeo, with a special focus on the bronc riding and bareback riding events. What sets this program apart is its commitment to education and skill development,
offered entirely free of charge to aspiring young rodeo contestants.

The Louisiana Legends Legacy Program opens its doors to passionate young
individuals who dream of mastering the art of bronc riding and bareback riding.
To be a part of this unique opportunity, contestants must apply for admission, and with a maximum capacity of 35 students in each event, totaling 70 participants, the program ensures an intimate and focused learning environment.

This three-day extravaganza is not just a local affair – it's a nationally and internationally recognized event. The school is promoted far and wide through regional and national rodeo publications, attracting participants from every corner of the nation and even drawing in enthusiastic international visitors. Queens Contest

In 2022, the Deep South Rodeo proudly revived a cherished tradition—the crowning of the Deep South Rodeo Queen. This revitalized contest has expanded to celebrate not only a Queen but also a Teen Queen, Princess, Junior Princess, and Mini Princess, creating a royal court that represents the diversity and spirit of the community.

The pageant has become a highlight of the annual Deep South Rodeo festivities, adding a touch of glamour and regality to the rodeo tradition.
